The Position
As part of our Services Group, you will participate on both in-house assignments fulfilling service upgrades/repairs to AXYS manufactured/owned equipment or as part of a commissioning/service crew deployed for field operations, along with a variety of technical support duties.
Key Job Elements
- Position will entail both Domestic and International travel up to 30% of the time for the commissioning or repair of AXYS manufactured systems and equipment.
- The work conditions can range from work camps, to industrial facilities to a variety of ocean vessels. Physical demands include working at sea, outdoors in all seasons and some work at heights.
- Technical support; to carry out analysis of customer issues and provide solutions. Will include direct client liaison regarding technical Q & A and troubleshooting.
- Depot based system diagnostics, repair and upgrades to AXYS manufactured equipment, as part of our RMA process.
- Documentation of work assignments.
- Development of specific written work instructions and technical manuals.
- Comfortable training end-users in AXYS systems operation (hardware, firmware and software) and service.
Desired Qualifications
- Recognized electronic technology diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ year's industry experience.
- Strong PC skills, MS OS, Networking, SQL Database, FTP protocols, Remote applications (VNC/remote desktop).
- Must have solid understanding of microprocessor operation, data acquisition, sensors and telemetry.
- Must be experienced in troubleshooting such systems.
- Besides excellent electronic skills, the candidate also has a solid understanding of field operations, mechanical equipment and systems and the ability to assemble such electromechanical systems.
- The applicant must be a mature team player able to work under the pressures of a fast paced environment.
- Should be self-motivated to perform a wide variety of hands on technical tasks to achieve set goals.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills (verbal and written - in English).
- Customer focused.
- Experience giving technical training.
- Trained in quality assurance (ISO 9001-2008) processes.
- Knowledge and use of CRM software and case management system.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally without restrictions.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision and proactively in a team environment.
- Focused on getting the job done, right.
- Drivers’ license.
