An essential element of managing any monitoring network is the ability to command and control system components when needed. The AXYS Data Management System (DMS) software is designed to facilitate WatchMan500™ station configuration and the control of data collection and processing for a WatchMan500™ Network Solution.

The DMS data collection and processing features are managed via the DMS Service application. The primary benefit of the DMS Service is that a user does not need to be logged in to the computer or server for the DMS to run; the software runs unattended.

The DMS Service is a Windows service that performs four main functions:

• Communications (telemetry) management
• WatchMan500™ station configuration and management
• Data Collection and storage to a DBMS(Database Management System)
• Data dissemination (DBMS, serial, TCP/IP, email, SMS)

AXYS offers two versions of the DMS software to meet a variety of needs.

• The full version of the DMS allows for complete management and customization of a WatchMan500™ network or individual station.
• The DMS Config version is designed to facilitate WatchMan500™ station configuration, targeted for the technicians and operators working on site at specific stations in the field. DMS Config uses the same familiar user interface as the full DMS, but simply removes the more complex data processing, data dissemination and database data logging requirements.

The DMS Plug-ins were developed to enable clients to customize their software package based on the specific sensors in their environmental monitoring system and the type of information they would like to view from the data being gathered.

Data Presentation

AXYS DMS Suite includes two software applications for presentation of acquired data:
 

• SmartWeb™ is an interactive web application used to display, graph and export data collected by the DMS for a WatchMan500™ Network Solution via a standard internet browser application.
• SmartView™ is a Windows application used to display, graph, map and export data collected by the DMS for a WatchMan500™ Network Solution, and to view WatchMan500™ station configuration information.
