WindSentinel Land Station Platform

The WindSentinel™ Land Station Platform (LSP) is a wind resource assessment station that uses a simultaneously pulsing laser wind sensor to accurately measure wind speed, wind direction, and turbulence offshore at turbine hub-height and across the blade span. The WindSentinel™ LSP has been specifically designed to operate on an offshore platform, providing users with a lower cost alternative to the traditional anemometer equipped met mast.

Naikun Met TowerThe WindSentinel™ LSP has been specifically developed to provide a robust, second generation laser wind sensor that can be managed remotely via AXYS Technologies’ trusted systems and power management technology.

At the heart of the WindSentinel™ is the Vindicator® Laser Wind Sensor (LWS), a next generation solid state laser designed to accurately measure wind from moving platforms. Using three fixed beams, this laser wind sensor can take single focused or multi-point measurements up to a maximum range of 300 meters. The resulting wind data is acquired, processed and transmitted via a selection of telemetry options through our AXYS WatchMan500™ controller.

Using the WatchMan500™ core processor technology, the WindSentinel™ LSP has unrivalled scalability and flexibility. The WindSentinel™ LSP can be outfitted with a wide range of sensors for monitoring wind, weather and other parameters as required, supplementing the accuracy and reliability of the Vindicator® LWS.

The WindSentinel™ LSP enables users to login from any website to access wind and status data remotely and to receive text and email alerts when certain parameters, such as battery charge, reach pre-defined levels. This feature enables users to manage the service requirements of the WindSentinel™ LSP and ensure maximum data uptime for their wind resource assessment.
