Met Ocean - Weather & Observing Platforms

AXYS Ocean & Coastal Monitoring buoys can be designed and configured in a variety of ways depending on client requirements. A typical buoy can measure, (but is not limited to), wind speed and direction, atmospheric pressure, air temperature, relative humidity, water temperature, currents, waves, oil, pH, DO, and other water quality parameters. Raw data is processed and can be logged on board the buoy and then transmitted via radio, cellular, or satellite telemetry to the end user. All AXYS buoys provide the dual function of automated weather station and navigational aid. Deployments can be in a variety of locations, from calm, shallow waterways to 4,900m depth in open oceans. All buoys are powered by solar panels and rechargeable batteries. Our Sales Department would be pleased to provide you with a custom quote for your application including a custom mooring. The following buoy platforms are available:

3 Metre Buoy
AXYS 3 Metre buoy

The ideal data collection buoy for exposed coastal sites and open ocean.

The 3 Metre buoy is assembled from three main components: the Hull, the Superstructure, and the Substructure, which are bolted together. This design allows the buoy to be easily dismantled for transportation on land or by ship. The buoy hull is discus-shaped, which allows it to move with the waves and provide accurate measurements of wave height, period, and direction. More Information

6 Metre NOMAD Buoy
AXYS NOMAD Buoy

The ideal data collection buoy for extreme marine weather conditions

The NOMAD (Navy Oceanographic Meteorological Automatic Device) can be equipped with a full complement of meteorological and oceanographic sensors. There is sufficient space on and in the hull to carry additional payload systems, solar panels, and primary batteries to allow for several years’ operation. More Information

WatchKeeperTM Buoy
AXYS WatchKeeper buoy

The ideal data collection buoy for large lakes, rivers and coastal waters

The AXYS Technologies, Inc. (AXYS) WatchKeeperTM buoy can be outfitted with a wide range of sensors for monitoring weather, air and water quality, waves and other parameters in coastal areas, lakes and rivers. Depending on the environmental conditions at the deployment site, the WatchKeeperTM can be deployed in water depths from 20m to 500m. More Information

WatchMateTM Buoy
AXYS WatchMate Buoy

The ideal data collection buoy for lakes, reservoirs, rivers, canals and coastal waters

The AXYS Technologies, Inc. (AXYS) WatchMateTM buoy is a rugged, lightweight environmental monitoring buoy that maintains all the requirements for a navigation aid. Every WatchMateTM buoy can be outfitted with a wide range of sensors for monitoring weather, air and water quality, waves and currents, among other parameters, in coastal areas, lakes, reservoirs and rivers. Data Management and Display
AXYS Data Management and Display

Remotely manage your environmental monitoring systems and view acquired data

An essential element of managing any monitoring network is the ability to command and control system components when needed. The AXYS Data Management System (DMS) software suite is designed to facilitate WatchMan500TM station configuration and the control of data collection, processing and display. Included applications in the DMS suite, SmartViewTM and WebViewTM, offer the abilities to display, graph and export environmental data collected by the DMS. More Information
