AXYS Technologies Inc. (AXYS) announced today that AREVA Resources Canada Inc. has selected the AXYS WxSentinel™ Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) to support air operations at their Points North airfield in far Northern Saskatchewan.

The WxSentinel™ AWOS is an automated weather observation station capable of withstanding extreme conditions in remote locations. The AREVA station will incorporate an AXYS WatchMan500™ data acquisition system to transmit real time weather information via VHF telemetry to arriving and departing aircraft. AXYS WxView™ display software will also be used for ground weather observations and pilot flight planning.

Points North Airfield provides logistical support to AREVA Resources Canada Inc’s northern mining operations.
