Coastal Observing Platforms

Ocean Observing Platforms need to be able to withstand harsh ocean conditions in the world while providing reliable, consistent data.

The AXYS Technologies Coastal Observing Platform can measure wind speed and direction, atmospheric pressure, air temperature, relative humidity, water temperature, currents and waves. Additional metereological or oceanographic sensors including but not limited to Solar Radiation, Salinity and Dissolved Oxygen can be integrated into the coastal platform Data is then logged on board and sent back to shore via radio, cellular or satellite telemetry. These platforms allow 2 -way system command and control. They come equipped with IALA approved navigation lights and are powered by solar panels and rechargeable batteries capable of providing many years of operational life. AXYS has designed, built and deployed such platforms for NOAA, Environment Canada and other worldwide clients for more than twenty years. Coastal Observing Platforms available from AXYS include:
