TRIAXYS Directional Wave Buoy deployment for marine monitoring

Training

Training can be done at our facility prior to shipment of product or at the system destination. Our technical staff has trained new clients in the operation and the maintenance of our products both during commissioning and as stand-alone training sessions. To view sample training curriculums please click: TRIAXYS Training (coming soon) or MetOcean Buoy Training.

Product Development and Engineering Programs

An active in-house product development program supplies high-quality products and support services to our clients. Continuing product line refinements and features ensures that your product can keep up to date with the latest software upgrades. AXYS Technologies Inc's (AXYS) development programs are a mix of both core-developed technology along with collaborative programs including:

Past projects have included Storm Wave Studies (SWS-1&2) off Canada's East and West Coasts. A specially instrumented 6m NOMAD Buoy using high speed sampling systems is used to monitor buoy motions and wind & wave measurements in high sea states. Other intercomparison and calibration programs have been completed with Environment Canada and the Field Research Facility (DUCK).

Custom Data Acquisition Systems

The flexible hardware and software architecture of the WatchMan500™ system makes provision of custom-built data acquisition systems economically feasible for many different types of applications. Programs have included ship motion studies, industrial process monitoring, and enhanced DCP's in severe climate applications. Please contact us for more information

Repair and Calibration

A service and production laboratory is located at AXYS' head office in Sidney, B.C. Canada. These facilities are capable of repairing all of our manufactured instrumentation. Modifications or repairs to any of the aluminum buoys are easily accommodated at nearby fabricators.

This facility is certified by the National Research Council of Canada to provide wave instrument calibration for government run/regulated programs. Compass calibrations are performed by AXYS' personnel at the nearby Institute of Ocean Sciences magnetic calibration facility.

Marine Mooring Design

Our staff has significant oceanographic mooring experience from our past 25 years of operations. In addition AXYS holds an extensive library of proven mooring designs developed in-house and from other oceanographic institutes/users around the world. The Canadian network of meteorological buoys utilizes proven mooring designs with operational life expectancies of greater than 7 years. Mooring designs are checked on static and dynamic mooring simulation software to ensure optimal performance and survivability. Call for your custom mooring design.
