TRIAXYS™ directional wave buoy to monitor wave energy facility in Western Australia

AXYS Technologies Inc. (AXYS) has won a competitive contract from Renewable Energy Holdings’ Australian subsidiary, Seapower Pacific Pty Ltd, for the supply of a TRIAXYS™ directional wave monitoring buoy.

The TRIAXYS™ buoy will improve Seapower’s understanding of local wave conditions and enhance operational efficiencies at the company’s revolutionary wave energy project, located near the Port of Fremantle.

TRIAXYS™ is a rugged, lightweight data collection buoy. The 0.9m diameter solar-powered instrument collects, processes, stores and transmits wave information to a shore base station by radio telemetry. Seapower technical staff will be able to view detailed wave statistics and buoy status information via AXYS’ proprietary WaveView™ software.

The buoy was recently air freighted to Western Australia and will be deployed in late November 2006.
