Ocean Science Seminar at NOAA/NOS headquarters
Wave buoys have been utilized by scientists and engineers for basic research and to support maritime operations for more than 40 years. During the last decade, major advancements in buoy technologies have made wave buoys more practical and robust to support marine science and operations.
Mr. Randolph Kashino, Marine Environmental Scientist from AXYS Technologies Inc. (AXYS), will be discussing some of these advancements during an ocean science seminar on September 26, 2006 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the NOAA/NOS offices in Silver Spring, Maryland. The first hour will be devoted to Mr. Kashino's presentation on advancements in wave buoy technology. The second hour is planned for a structured discussion of participant operational requirements and suggested research directions (future needs) for wave measurements.
Interested parties should contact AXYS for more details.
